MT. VERNON – Betty J. WILE, 88, of Mount Vernon and formerly of Wooster passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Laurels of Mt. Vernon.
She was born June 19, 1927 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of John L and Rosa Frommer Smiley.
Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and was an avid bingo player.
Surviving are her children, Delores (Arthur) Peterson of Danville and Perry (Donna) Wile of Ashland; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a sister, Virginia May of California.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold E. Wile in 1984.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. memorial service on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. Charles Tobias officiating.  Interment will follow in the Reedsburg Cemetery.
