WOOSTER – Betty Lou Dougherty, age 84, passed away peacefully at Hospice Center Wooster, Ohio. November 13, 2017. Betty was born on May 13, 1933, in Clark Farm near Parrish, Illinois, the daughter of Ward and Evelyn Phillips.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Richard Dougherty, four daughters, Carol Moffett (John), Christi Spamer (Doug), Carla Redick (Carl), and Caren Starr (Philip). Thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brother’s Richard Phillips (Marilyn), Maurice Phillips (Carol) and sister-in-law Annette Lawson. Loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Betty loved antiques and playing bridge with her friends. Owner of Golden Eagle Antiques in Shreve, Ohio. She was very involved with Nela Mates, Wooster Civic Club, Every Women’s House, and Boy’s Village Friends. She attended Benton High School and Southern Illinois Teachers College.
Family and Friends may celebrate Betty’s life at Trinity United Church of Christ on December 1, 2017, 11:00am service with lunch following at church. 150 North Street Wooster, Ohio 44691.
