WOOSTER “ David Earl Baker, 79, of Wooster passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born April 7, 1939 in Navarre, the son of Earl Washington and Elmer Louise Heater Baker.   He married Betty J. on August 16, 1963. She preceded him in death in 2015.
Dave was a bricklayer for Brick Layers and Allied Craft Workers Union Local # 7.   He served his country in the U.S. Army.   He enjoyed watching and playing football, fishing, cars, gardening with Betty and loved his orange cats.   He was also  a drummer with various groups around Wooster.
Dave is survived by his daughter Denise (Jerry) Beall of Wooster;  eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister Barbara Baker-Miller of PA; niece Jody (Jarrett) Poulson-Smith of Laurelville; nephew James (Traci) Poulson of Shreve and a brother-in-law Phillip D. Poulson of Wooster.
Along with his wife, Dave was preceded in death by his parents and a son Dennis A. Baker.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 1:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Rev. James Valentine officiating.   Interment will follow in Prairie Twp. Cemetery in Holmesville.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
