SMITHVILLE – Delores F. Aunti Dee Crites, 90, of Smithville, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
She was born June 4, 1927 in Wooster, the daughter of Emelio and Mary Massaro Rose.
She was a homemaker and had worked for Rubbermaid.  She had also worked for Spectrol Electric in California and was a Rosie the Riviter during WWII.  Member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Delores, better known by all as Aunti Dee, was an example of a true Christian.  She lead a life of service: service to the Lord, service to her husband and service to all who knew her.  Dee was the ultimate caregiver of family, friends, and neighbors.  Having no children of her own, Dee became everyone’s mother, providing the same love and nurturing as if they were her own.
Dee led a very simple, content yet active life.  She spent much of her time praying, saying the rosary faithfully every day.  In her motherly fashion, Dee volunteered for nearly 40 years at the Smithville Western Nursing Home talking and praying amd serving communion with the residents even after her mother’s passing.  Dee never having a driver’s license, got around more than anyone.  Anytime she needed a ride, all she had to do was ask and someone would be there.  Dee loved walking with her friends every day, sometimes as many as 5 miles and rode thousands of miles on her stationary bike on rainy days.  Dee’s cell phone was her life blood.  Even though her conversations were short, sweet and to the point everyone looked forward to hearing her voice.
Aunti Dee will be remembered as the most caring, selfless and content individual you would ever meet.  From all of us whose lives you’ve touched, We love you Aunti Dee.
Surviving are brothers, Raymond Rose of Wooster and Richard Rose of Big Prairie and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many great-great nieces and nephews who were like her children and who she loved as her own.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 63 years, Merle Crites and her siblings, Paul, Albert, Sam and Angelina (Rose) Ghirardelli.
