WOOSTER – Donald W. Buehler, 85, of Wooster continued his journey from earth on Wednesday, November 29, 2017.

He was born June 17, 1932 at his home in Wooster, the son of Edward and Helen Ridenour Buehler.  He married Shirley A. Winget on June 24, 1956.  She survives.

Don retired in 2002 as co-owner and operator of Buehler Foods.  He was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church where he served as a Church Trustee for many years, the Wooster Kiwanis Club, served on the boards of Wayne Co. National Bank and Wayne Mutual Insurance Group, he was a College of Wooster Trustee, a 60 year member of Ebenezer Lodge #33 F &Am, a member of the Mohican Chapter of Penn Ohio Antique Car Club, and the Early Ford V-8 Club.

He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army as a Cpl. during the Korean War.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Shirley, are his children, Robert A. (Laurie) Buehler of Wooster, Roger W. (Valerie) Buehler of Loveland, Colorado and Gregory T. (Darby) Buehler of Wooster; grandchildren, Adrianne (Michael) Vincent, Brandon (Elaine) Buehler, Brian Buehler, Eric Buehler, Keeley (James) Hunter, Trevor Buehler, Ashley (Seth) Johnson and Eylie Buehler; great-grandchildren, Emma Buehler and Kai Hunter and a sister Eileen Cross of Wooster.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, and brothers, Wayne E. and Eugene A. Buehler.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wooster United Methodist Church, 243 N. Market St., Wooster with the Rev. Charles Tobias officiating.  Private family burial will be held.  The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

I'm so sorry to hear about this sad news. Don was a wonderful man. My thoughts are with his wonderful family during this difficult time.

So saddened to hear of the loss of Don. He was a very fair and understanding, and compassionate person. This community has suffered a great loss. Please except my condolences. When working, he would seek me out to chat. A very special man.

Mr. Don Buehler was superman. Always soft spoken but when he spoke, you listened. When a situation came up he was the calm and knew exactly what to do and say. While working for Buehler's I felt like family. Mr. Buehler would call me by name and he was genuine when he asked how I was. You were all sincere. The Buehlers are losing a giant in Mr. Buehlers passing. My sincere sympathy goes out to the entire family.

Shirley, Bob, Roger, Greg & families.....I was heartbroken to hear of Don's passing. I have many fond childhood memories of my father and his working with and for Don and Gene and the Buehler's family. My hopes are that your memories along with the community's prayers, thoughts, and sympathies sustain you and comfort you.

Mr. Buehler was such a kind and humble man. I have many fond memories of times with the immediate and extended Buehler family. All of them have hearts of gold. I send my deepest sympathies to all of you and pray that God will encircle you with love as he helps you during the days, months, and years ahead.

The Buehler family was a great family to have in our lives! We feel very blessed to have known Don, Shirley & their whole family. Our thoughts & prayers are with you as you go thru this time of grieving!

My husband Stan Miller and I knew Don and Shirley thru the Methodist church. Stan passed in 1973, but our
children and I lived in Wooster until 1980. My deepest sympathy to Shirley and the boys. Very kind and friendly
