WOOSTER “ Douglas H. Coblentz, 79, of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
He was born July 28, 1936 in Wooster, the son of Jacob and Eva Schellin Coblentz.   He married Susanne Schaffer on May 1, 1987.   She survives.
He had been a truck driver for Frito Lay retiring in 1980.   Douglas was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion Post 68 of Wooster.   He enjoyed NASCAR and the Cleveland Indians.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force.
In addition to his wife, Susanne, he is survived by his son, Jerry (Tonia) Coblentz of N. Bend, Oregon, 4 grandchildren, several great-grandchild, a sister Shirley (Delno) Hackett of Shreve and a brother Ronald Coblentz of Mississippi.   Also, a close family friend, Charles (Val) Pater of Casper Wyoming who was like a son.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his children, Eileen Coblentz, James Douglas and Gary Coblentz.
A service of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at  11:00  a.m. at  the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Rev. Joseph Seebauer officiating.   Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the time of the service.
