Edward Joseph Hodan

We mourn the passing and celebrate the life of Edward Joseph Hodan, age 87.   He was born in Cleveland Heights, OH on Aug. 18, 1928 and died peacefully at home on Nov. 25 in Columbus, OH.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Edward Hodan and his mother, Emily Marie (Mikolas) Hodan.   He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Lee (Hansen), of forty- eight years, and the mother of their four children.  
He is survived by his current wife, Donna, of seven years. His children Scott Hodan (fiancée Betty Ann), of Brunswick, OH, Barb Bredenbeck (Kevin) of Stuart, FL, Kathy Gingrich (Tim) of Mobile, AL, and Bob Hodan (Vickie) of Mississauga Canada; grandchildren Christie, Brian, Andrea, Ryan, and Taylor; step-children Susan Hart (Lee), Greg Miller (Mary), Cyndi Battles (John), and Michelle Day (Ed), his sister, Janice Carlson (Oz), and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Edward graduated from Case Western University in 1950 with a degree in Industrial Engineering and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.   For more than 40 years, he was a successful industrial manufacturer ™s representative and a faithful member of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church in Fairview Park, OH.    Edward was also a handyman who loved to travel, play cards, and be with family and friends.   For years he was an avid golfer and an active member of Elyria Country Club.  For many years he looked forward to his special snow-bird time on Hutchison Island, FL and more recently in Longboat Key, FL.
Edward was an especially kind and gentle, generous man who was loved by all who met him.   His easygoing smile and love for life will be greatly missed.  
A visitation will be held on Tuesday December 1, 2015 from 5:00 “ 8:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday December 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Avenue, Wooster with Rev. Stephen Moran as celebrant.
 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to ViaQuest Hospice or the Multiple Myeloma Society or St. Mary Catholic Church in Wooster or Every Woman’s House in Wooster.
