Together Again
WOOSTER   “ Elizabeth A. Zimmer, 89, of  Wooster passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Glendora Health Care Center.
She was born August 26, 1927 in New Philadelphia, the daughter of Elmer and Goldie Baker Miller.   She married Richard Zimmer on April 1, 1951.   He preceded her in death on October 8, 2001.
She was a 1945 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and a 1946 graduate of the Wooster Business College.   She took a position in the office of Wooster Rubber Company in February 1946.
She worked for Rubbermaid for 27 years.   Elizabeth was an active member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, a 60 year member of Beta Sigma Sorority, a charter member of the Bridge Club and had served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts.   Liz was an avid reader and thoroughly enjoyed her travels thru Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and  Florida.   Her retirement years were pleasantly spent with her family and her beloved grand and great grandchildren as well as her devotion to her numerous volunteer positions.
She is survived by her children, Craig (Vicki) Zimmer of Apple Creek, Scott (Jan) Zimmer of Columbus and Jeff Zimmer of Smithville; grandchildren, Christopher (Julia) Zimmer, Bryan (Mindy) Zimmer, Jennifer Zimmer and Jordan (Chelsea) Zimmer; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Sierra and Kolton Zimmer and a brother, Fred (Becky) Miller.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, David Miller and PFC John T. Miller who was killed in the Korean conflict and an infant sister, Helen Miller.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 11:00 service on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. Dr. Kevan Franklin and Mr. Fred Miller officiating.   Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
