WOOSTER – Evelyn (Langs) Pearman, 83, passed away after an unexpected illness on Sunday, June 28, 2015, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, assertiveness, acceptance and love.
Evelyn was born on September 24, 1931, in Jersey City, New Jersey, the only daughter of the late Sara (Lippett) Langs and George J. Langs. She was a graduate of Peabody College in Nashville, TN, and majored in English, working in her early years as an English teacher. Later careers would include Nursing Home Administrator and employee with Pacific Bell Telephone Industries. In her retirement years, she enjoyed writing, was a published poet, and crafted hundreds of poems.
The daughter of Russian-Jewish immigrants, Evelyn was a staunch advocate of coexistence, acceptance and brotherly love. She was assertive, and spoke her mind, but never with ill will. She met her husband, Henry Edgar (Ed) Pearman at college, and converted to Christianity. Theirs was a love that lasted over 5 decades, with a marriage that continued almost 50 years. Evelyn s faith and grace helped her endure the 11 year gap between her beloved Edgar s death and her own, and now the two are reunited.
Surviving are son, Steven Pearman of California (wife Tamye, daughters Bethanye and Marissa); daughters Donna Pearman of California and Jenny Grimsley of Wooster (children Kaitlin, Brian and Jillian); and great-granddaughter, Lily Davis, age 5. She taught her family how to enjoy life, how to parent, how to handle adversity, and how to love unconditionally. She was an 83-year-old family member that was, unquestionably, the life of the party.
A memorial service and celebration of Evelyn s life will be Sunday, July 5th at 6:30 p.m. at Wayne Manor Chapel, 4138 Swanson Bl., Wooster, OH. A second memorial service will take place in California, where Evelyn s remains will be interred with her beloved Edgar s.

I found this by accident.I am her daughter Donna.I used to live with her and my dad in the mobile home in CaliforniaAfter my dad died.She moved to be near my brother.Then she moved to be near my sister.I miss them both.I am a practising jew now.My grandmother’s religion.But I loved that my mom and dad love of God.My brother is just as religious.My sister studies both religions.May God bless Evelyn and Edgar Pearmsn
