WOOSTER “ Frances Freshley, 98, of Wooster passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Smithville Western Care Center.
She was born September 1, 1918 in Millport, Ohio, the daughter of Lawrence and Margaret Gamble McKarns.   She married Wilson Bryan Freshley on May 8, 1943.   He preceded her in death on June 18, 2009.
She was a graduate of Sebring High School and Alliance City Hospital School of Nursing in 1941.   She was an obstetrical nurse at Wooster Community Hospital for many years retiring in 1983.
Frances was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.   She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and many traveling experiences with her family.
She is survived by her children, Margaret Kaye (Robert) Schultz of Leawood, Kansas, Glenda (Thomas) Gleason of Chicago, Keith Freshley of Dallas, Texas, her daughter-in-law Annie Freshley of Placentia, California and grandchildren, Jason Schultz, Megan (Schultz) Garrelts, Bryan Gleason and Meredith Gleason, great-grandchildren, Madilyn Garrelts, Colin Garrelts and Michaela Schultz.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gaylord Freshley and three brothers, Perry, Roy and Paul McKarns.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 6-8:00 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday.
A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Tobias officiating.   Private burial will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
