WOOSTER “ Frank L. Knorr, 78, of Wooster passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
He was born July 25, 1937 in Philadelphia, the son of Frank Russell and Eleanor Lawrence Knorr.   He married Jean Warren on June 22, 1963.   She survives.
Frank served the College of Wooster for 31 years as Director of Alumni Relations and one of the Directors of Development at the College of Wooster prior to his retirement in 2004.  
A 1959 graduate of The College of Wooster, where he earned a bachelor ™s degree in economics, Frank taught history and economics, and later served as an assistant superintendent and coordinator of professional personnel in Rochester, NY area schools before returning to Wooster in 1974 as Director of Alumni Relations.
During his eight years as Director of Alumni Relations, Frank initiated the Scot Band ™s annual spring concert tour, launched Wooster ™s alumni admissions program, and was founding producer of The Ohio Light Opera. In 1982, he was named Director of Development, a position he held for the next 23 years, until his retirement in 2004. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Frank was one of the Fighting Scots ™ most knowledgeable sports fans, helping to lead the College of Wooster basketball booster club Downtown Rebounders.
In retirement, Frank was a member and Elder of First Presbyterian Church and a Hospice Board member helping with the fundraising drive for LifeCare Hospice.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his children, Eric (Michelle) Knorr of Dayton and Elisabeth (Nigel) Cosh of Silver Spring, Maryland; grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah, Lily and Emery Rose Knorr; brothers, Larry Knorr of Santa Barbara, California and Walt Knorr of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania and a sister Debbie Haavik of Annapolis, Maryland.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 621 College Avenue, Wooster.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St. is assisting the family.
