WOOSTER “ Gary Arthur Palmer, 78, of Wooster passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
He was born January 4, 1940 in Wooster, the son of Guy E. and Ruth Cherry Palmer.   He married Bonnie Withrow on June 21, 1959.   She preceded him in Death on December 7, 2012.
He had worked for the City of Wooster as the operator of the sewer dept. and had been a Firefighter with the Wooster Fire Department.   Gary attended the Wooster Church of the Nazarene.   He loved to take his kids and grandkids camping and fishing.   He had also been involved with the Boy Scouts.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his children, Jennifer (Eric) Steinman of Wooster and Steven Palmer of Leesburg, Georgia; grandchildren, Ericia, Cameron, Ryan, Ben, McKaylee, Gabby, Elise, Oliver and Miranda; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Brenden, Gracelynn and Finnigan.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Seth.
Friends will be received 2 hours prior to the 12:00 noon on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Pastor Joel Yates officiating.   Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
