Genevieve L. œGenny  Strouse, 93, of Wooster went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, February 11, 2017.
She was born September 3, 1923 to the late William H. and Florence Purdy Love.   She grew up on the family farm near Hayesville.   In her teen years the family moved to Ashland, where she graduated from Ashland High School in 1941.   After moving to Wooster the following year she met and later married Samuel Strouse on September 19, 1948.   He passed away July 15, 2006.
Among several other establishments, Genny worked for many years in various offices in the Wayne County Court System, then retired in 1988 after 10 years with the CPA office of Meaden & Moore, Inc.
Genny was a member since 1993 of the Women of the Word Bible Study in the COW Palace near Shreve.   She was secretary of the English Club and both she and her husband were 50 year members of the Wooster United Methodist Church.   Genny loved music, animals and most of all her family.
She is survived by son Steven (Patty) Strouse, daughters Sharon (Gary) Leisure and Sheila (Dave) Davenport all of Wooster; grandchildren Dr. Heather Strouse of Gilbert, AZ, Chris Leisure of Wooster, Ashli (Brett) Reineck of Fremont, Julie (Chad) Dial of Big Prairie and Matthew (Angela) Davenport of Rootstown; great-grandchildren Landen Strouse, Cade, Griffin, Easton and Audra Reineck, Payson Dial, Ava and Layla Davenport and step great-grandson Ryan Butcher; brother and sister-in-law Ben (Marge) Strouse of Ashland; sister and brother-in-law Mary (Vance) Grube of DeSoto, KS; nieces Linda Lutz and Patricia Shatzes and a nephew Jim Love.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers William, Richard and infant Harold Love and a grandson Mark Allan Davenport.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Rev. Bill Sowers officiating.   Interment will follow in Vermillion Cemetery in Hayesville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM.
