WOOSTER “ Henrietta œEtta Yenne, 84, of Wooster passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at LifeCare Hospice.
Henrietta œEtta  Yenne was born on June 10, 1932 to Frank and Violet Short on a small farm just outside of Wooster, Ohio.   Etta married Charles Richard œDick  Yenne February 10, 1951.   Together they enjoyed 59 years of marriage and had five children.   Dick and Etta enjoyed spending winters at their second home in Bonita Springs, Florida with their good friends and family and traveling to Las Vegas.
Etta loved bowling, golf, bridge club, casinos and was actively involved in many leagues, social clubs and organizations through the years. She carried many titles and won countless awards and trophies for golf and bowling accomplishments. She always looked forward to her Friday morning social breakfasts with her dear group of girlfriends.
She was a member of many organizations over the years including Wooster Community Hospital Auxiliary, Emblem Club, Quota Club, Wooster Country Club Golf Association and Worthington Country Club Golf Association in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Dick and Etta were involved with many philanthropic efforts through the years including the Wayne County Community Foundation and The American Red Cross – Wayne County Chapter. The legacy of their contributions will continue to serve the community.
Etta cherished her large family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss their beloved nanny, grammy and grandma.   She is survived by sons, Rick (Kristie) Yenne and Jay (Bonnie) Yenne of Wooster, Rob Yenne (Diane Perez) of Petaluma, Calif.; daughter Laurie (Franz) Schmidt of Wooster; grandchildren, Josh Yenne (Rachel LeRoy) of Sonoma, Calif., Brandi (Ben) Ballentine of Wooster, Jaymi (Jason) Allen of Raleigh, N.C., Lyndi (Kevin) Hart of Mason, Marji Yenne of Columbus, Katalyn Yenne (Ben Haney) of Westlake, Nathan Yenne of Gahanna, Tori Schmidt of Wooster Drew (Kayla) Schmidt of Wooster; great-grandchildren, Olive & Jameson Ballentine, Gentry & Emory Allen, Ainsley, Ellis & Hayes Hart, Damian Schmidt, Landon Norman, and Marli, Leona & Porter Schmidt.   She is also survived by her brother Nevin Lois) Dewayne Short, sister-in-law Donna Lou Miller Hodan and many nieces and nephews.  
Etta is preceded in death by her husband, Dick, infant daughter, Terri Denise, brothers William Wayne Short, Warren Albert Short, James Dean Short; and sisters Beulah Maye Short Boldman, Bertha Beryl Short Hofstetler, Grace Elizabeth Short Hooley, Pauline Idella Short Miller, Frank Short Jr. and Gladys Porter Short.
Etta will be missed by many but now may rest peacefully after many years of declining health.   Special thanks to her special family members, caretakers from Wooster Community Hospital Home Health, Lifecare and many agencies over the years, special friends and mostly her caretaker Chrissy Hart who made her laugh and kept her spirit going.   We can ™t thank you enough!
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. J. Alexander officiating.   Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
