WOOSTER “ James E. Smith, Jr., 70, of Wooster passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born May 20, 1947 in Orrville, the son of James E., Sr. and Dora Ertl Smith.
He was an LPN for over 25 years, a life-time member of the Bass Master ™s Club and loved fishing.
James proudly served his country with the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
Surviving is a son, Jeffrey Smith of Wooster; step-children, Charles Miller of Wooster and Becky Miller of Big Prairie; a granddaughter, Zaina Patton of Wooster and special friends, Whitey Daugherty, Dick Fisher, Rick VanDyne, Debbie Harsh, Michelle Philpott and Susan Philpott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ronald Smith and a step-daughter, Tamara Compston.
There will be no calling hours.   Graveside services will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
