WOOSTER – James was the second born to the late Fred and Ethel Wright. He was born January 13, 1932 in Grenada, Mississippi.   He was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on September 15, 2017.   He attended Hardiman School in Grenada, Mississippi.
James met the love of his life, Dorothy Mae Tidwell, in 1947 in Grenada, Mississippi and they were united in Holy matrimony on March 22, 1952.   To this union five beautiful children were born.
James served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954.   He was an engineer truck driver and he was stationed in Mannheim, West Germany for sixteen months.   After his honorable discharge and brave tactics, James learned to be a good father and devoted husband and friend to everyone.
James and Dorothy moved to Orrville, Ohio in 1956 where he worked at the Quality Castings Company from 1956-2005, where he retired.   James coached the slow pitch for Quality Castings and Hot Stove baseball with the late Jim McMorrow.   He enjoyed sports, loved buying cars, vacations with his family and friends, cookouts and laughing with old friends over breakfast.   He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he was active Deacon, Laymen ™s Ministry, Sunday school and Bible Study.
James will be remembered by his powerful prayer on Sunday mornings during Praise and Worship service.   James œPaPa  leaves to cherish two devoted daughters; Sandra (Neil) Smith, Nora Jean Higgins of Wooster, Ohio; two devoted sons; Freddie Wright of Navarre, Ohio and Samuel (Avery) Wright of Wooster, Ohio.   Three brothers; Ulysses (Margaret) Wright, Joe (Genora) Wright and Robert (Helen) Wright; four sisters; Mary Wright, Gracie Mitchell, Dollie (Rev. Russell) Amos and Vernie Stevens.   Two God-daughters; Stacey Sims and Jacqueline Gaines, 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
James was preceded in death by his parents; Fred and Ethel Wright, wife; Dorothy Wright, son; Richard Wright, two brothers; William and Jimmie Wright, and a sister; Trollie Amos.
Friends will be received two hours prior to the 12:00 noon service on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Second Baptist Church, 245 S. Grant St., Wooster with the Rev. Rickey Brown officiating.   Burial will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.
