Jane Bobel, a lifelong resident of Wooster, passed on unexpectedly September 6th, 2016.
She was born Jane Mary, along with her twin sister, Janet Ruth, in Millersburg, Ohio on May 6th, 1939 to Harland William and Irene Lucille Mosher. Jane excelled in both academics and sports, graduating from Wooster High School in 1957. She attended The College of Wooster and graduated from Kent State University in 1962, majoring in elementary education.  
She married Ronald Bobel in 1962 and lived in Washington, D.C., Peru and Brazil until the birth of their daughter, Teresa. Jane later rejoined her Wooster family and was a first grade teacher for students with learning disabilities and then a sixth grade teacher at Beall Avenue and Cornerstone schools. She was also a prolific creator of a multitude of arts and crafts, including painting, ceramics, sewing, scrap-booking, jewelry making and crocheting. Jane was an avid reader and enjoyed cheering for the Cleveland Browns and Cavs.
Upon retirement, Jane kept busy with numerous endeavors, including the Wayne County Historical Society, the Wayne County Retired Teachers, Red Cross blood drives, Unity Singers, parent surrogate for Boys Village, Friends of Christmas Run Swimming Pool, Friends of Wooster High School alumni and class of 1957 reunion committee, Red Hat Society, People to People, Habitat for Humanity and œInky  Stamping Club. Her latest passion was the Cornerstone Playlab which she helped to promote and worked to raise funds.
Annually, she visited family in Vermont, California and Florida. Her travel adventures took her to Canada, Alaska, South Africa, Europe and China where she enjoyed trying the local and unusual foods native to each country.
Family and friends were the lights of Jane’s life. She was blessed with many dear friends and neighbors and especially enjoyed sharing her joy of cooking for groups and neighborhood get-togethers.
Jane is predeceased by her parents and her brother-in-law, Phil Napolitan.     She leaves behind daughter Teresa; son-in-law, Silvio Mazzarese and beloved granddaughters, Liliana and Valentina; sister, Patricia and husband James Byrd; twin Jan Napolitan and much loved nieces, Kari Raiche, Leanne Sauerland, Jodie Napolitan, Julie Napolitan and nephew, Doug Byrd.
Jane was an animal lover, and donations may be made in her memory to the Wayne County Dog Shelter, 5694 Burbank Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 or the Wayne County Humane Society Inc., 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd. Wooster, OH 44691, in lieu of flowers.
Services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church in Wooster. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM with the service starting at 11:00. A light lunch will be served in Bruch Hall following the service.
