SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS “ Janet L. Martin, 81, of San Antonio and formerly of Wooster passed away at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio on March 23, 2016.
She was born June 4, 1934 in Wooster, the daughter of Herbert Goff and Jeanette Johnson Martin.
She retired from the U.S. Army as a 1st Sgt. after 20 years of service  and had worked for the IRS.   Janet was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 83 in Austin, Texas where she was Commander from 1992-1994.   She was also 3rd Division Commander from 2003-2004 and in 2000 she was the National Director of the 20/4 (Honor Society of Women Legionnaires).
She liked fishing, cross stitch and loved animals and was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs and the San Antonio Spurs.
She is survived by her siblings, John (Jane) Martin, Sr. of South Carolina, Charles (Viola) Martin of Zanesville, Roger (Pam) Martin of Wooster, Howard (Judy) Martin of Apple Creek, Helen Marton of Wooster, Kathi (Bill) Ice of Apple Creek, Art (Diana) Martin of Cabot, Arkansas, Sandy (Dave) Leighty of Big Prairie, Jan (Ken Harr) Miller of Wooster, Jeff Martin of Canal Fulton and Judy (Bob Talcott) Delaney of Wooster.  
She is also survived by her step-mother, Catherine Martin of Wooster and many, many nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Patsy Moore, Nancy Evans, Carol Clark, Joel Martin and David Martin.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 3:00 p.m. service on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. Stephen Moran officiating.   Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
