COLUMBUS “ Judith E. œJudie  Yokoyama, 76, of Columbus and formerly of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at her home.
She was born September 11, 1941 in Wooster, the daughter of Richard and Ethel Markle Taggart.   She married Ben Yokoyama on June 14, 1959.   He survives.
Judith was a homemaker and mother and had attended the Wooster United Methodist Church.   She was a member of the Women ™s League of Voters, AAUW and was an avid lifelong learner taking many college classes and was very fond of American History.   Judith loved spending time with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Ben, are her children Ellen Yokoyama of Columbus and Christopher and Dr. Sandy Cope-Yokoyama of Irving, Texas; grandchildren, Cora and Lily Yokoyama; a brother, Richard Taggart of Negley, Ohio and a special sister-in-law and friend, Bonnie Taggart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, children, Faith Elizabeth and Benjamin Thomas and a sister, Marilyn Sharp.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster followed by a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at the Wooster Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Tobias officiating.
