WOOSTER “ Lucille (Irvin) Kinney, 104, of Wooster passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Wayne Co. Care Center.
She was born May 2, 1913 near Creston, the daughter of John and Susan Irvin.   She married Roy Kinney of Chester Township in 1940.   He preceded her in death in 1984.
Lucille graduated from Creston High School in 1931 and Manchester College in 1933.   She retired after a teaching career of 28 years, having taught at Chester Elementary, Rittman Elementary, Overton One Room School and Chester Twp. One Room School.                  
She was a 50 year member of Chester Grange, an active member of Near-by Neighbors Club, Wayne Co. Chorus and an active member of Emanuel Old Stone Church since 1940.   She volunteered for People to People Ministries making comforters and lap robes and also participating in activities for Hope Homes of Wooster.
Lucille had many interests; sewing, cooking, baking, reading, gardening and visiting friends in nursing homes.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kinney, sisters, Fern Huff, Ruth Leaman, Grace Steiner, Ethel Irvin and brothers, Floyd, Virgil, Glade and J. Lowell Irvin.
Surviving are her children, Stan Kinney, Ginny (Bob) Schubert, Mary Kinney, Ken (Patty) Kinney all of Wooster; grandchildren, Mike (Jessica) Schubert of Youngstown, Jody (Bryon) Ritchie of Apple Creek and great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Lane and Finnigan Schubert and Lillian Ritchie and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Wayne Co. Care Center and its staff for their care and support and LifeCare Hospice.
Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours or formal services.
Private family graveside services will be at the Wooster Cemetery.
