WOOSTER – Marilyn (Mimi) Rae Berman passed away on April 3, 2014 at Wooster CommunityHospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Daughter of Robert and Dorris (Teal)  Tissot, Mimi was born in Canton on March 12, 1943. Shespent most of her life as a resident of Wooster, a town she loved. Mimi graduated fromWooster High School in 1961 and attended Stephens College as well as TransylvaniaUniversity.
After spending several years in Virginia, Mimi returned to Wooster. She served as aninformation specialist and licensed social worker for United Way of Wooster 1984-199l.In 1991 Mimi moved to the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross andserved as the Director of Health and Safety Services. Finally, in 2000 Mimi worked forthe American Cancer Society as a patient navigator until her retirement.
Mimi was a loving mother, loving partner and loyal friend. Surviving is son DavidBerman (Cassie), daughter Carolyn Braun (Conrad), sister Carolyn Stucker, companionBrian Stevens, her many dear friends in the Wooster community and the Class of 1961.Everyone that met Mimi loved her and she will be deeply missed.
Mimi’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice and all of thosepeople at the Wooster Community Hospital that helped care for her during her time ofneed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mimi’s name to LifeCare Hospice, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH 44691
A celebration of Mimi’s life will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her residencefrom 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. If you were a friend of Mimi’s, please join her family incelebrating her life.
