Nevin F. Numbers, 76, of Loudonville passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in Layton, Utah.
He was born June 22, 1941 in Apple Creek, the son of Elmer and Mary Shammo Numbers.
He was a retired carpenter who had worked for various contractors. Nevin ™s church was his life. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings within the church, including leadership positions. He especially loved working with the young men of the church which included the Scouting program. Nevin also served as a Temple Worker at the temple for the church in Columbus, Ohio. He was a Senior Missionary with his wife, helping newly converted church members from the Amish community.
Surviving are his wife, Lana Watson Numbers whom he married August 30, 1962. Children: Kevin (Becky) Numbers of Lancaster, Ohio, Laurie (Ed) Powers, of Pleasantville, Ohio, Bret (Renee) Numbers of Loudonville, and Jamie (Sean) Murphy of Layton, Utah. Grandchildren: Sierra Numbers, Aaron Numbers, Terra Numbers, Isaac Numbers, Lauren (Mark) Rizor, Morgan Powers, Katlyn Powers, Ashley Numbers, Seth Numbers, Allison Numbers, Tyler Walter, Trevor Smith, Kylie (Skyler) Trujillo, and Justin (Victoria) Murphy. Brothers: Bill Numbers of Corpus Christi, Texas, David Numbers of Centerville, Utah, Martin Numbers of Blanding, Utah, and a sister Eula Hansen of Boise, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 19th, at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home in Wooster from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 20th, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints/ Mt. Vernon Ward, 1010 Beech St., Mt. Vernon, Ohio 43050 with Bishop Victor Conkle officiating.   A private family burial will be held.
Arrangements are under the direction of McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home.
