WOOSTER “ Oval Carl Jarvis, Sr., 78, of Wooster passed away on Saturday September 12, 2015 at his home.
He was born March 30, 1937 in Milo, West Virginia, the son of Carl Jarvis and Jessie Hicks.
He had been a diesel mechanic for Wooster Motor Ways for a number of years.
He loved gardening, canning, cooking and spending time with his granddaughters.
He proudly served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force as an airplane mechanic.
He is survived by his children, Sherry (Richard) Bloomfield of Wooster, Michael Jarvis of Chicago, Oval Carl Jarvis, Jr. of Harbor Beach, Michigan, Laurie Truman of Shreve and Susan Johnson of Wooster  and granddaughters, Myla Walton and Avalynn Bloomfield; his siblings, Joan Whitlock of St. Albans, June Milan of Teys Valley, West Virginia, Louise Chamblin of Dunbar, West Virginia, Carol Wolfe of Dunbar, West Virginia, Kathy Hyer, Charleston, West Virginia, John Hyer of Huntington, West Virginia.
Graveside services will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
