SORRENTO, Florida “ Reita M. Bersch, 83, of Sorrento, Florida and formerly of Wooster passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 10, 2015.
She was born in Rittman, Ohio on April 30, 1932 to Wilbur and Mary Kennedy Halliwell.
She is survived by 3 sons: Ed (Gail) Bersch and Terry (Rachel) Bersch both of Wooster; George Bersch (Karen) of Burbank; 2daughters, Lois McCarty of Shreve and Donna Ames (Jerry) of Sorrento, Florida. Also surviving is a brother Jim Halliwell of Wakeman, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.   Also surviving is a best friend of over 70 years, Bea Slabach.
Formerly of Wooster, residing in Florida for the past year. She was a stay at home Mom but later worked at Al Ramseyer potato farm, was a flea market vendor, managed a mobile home park and worked on a hot tar roofing crew. She loved to bake and sew, work crossword and jigsaw puzzles, loved spending time with family and friends and loved anything that was purple.
Preceded  in death by her parents, husband Ralph, an infant son Richard, sister, Marge and a grandson Brett.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Josh Arrington officiating.   Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the time of the service at the funeral home.   Burial will follow in the East Union Cemetery.   A reception for family and friends will follow the burial at the Smithville United Methodist Church, 243 N. Milton St., Smithville.
Pallbearers will be Terry Bersch, Doug, Michael and Josh Bersch, Curt Ames and Jerry AmRhein.
