WOOSTER “ Rev. Edith Susanne (Susie) Palmquist died at Wooster Community Hospital Saturday June     23, 2018.
She was born in Bakersfield, CA 23 May 1939 to Edith Lorraine (Gresham) and Everett Nicodemus. She graduated from Bakersfield High School (the largest in California at that time) with honors and from the University of California at Davis, with a major in Home Economics, in 1961.
She married Donald L. Palmquist in Davis on 17 February 1962. After living in Champaign, IL for two years, the couple moved to Wooster. Susie was a substitute teacher in Wayne County for many years and judged 4-H clothing exhibits at the Wayne County Fair. In 1986, Susie enrolled in Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus and was ordained in Wooster in June 1992. She was called to serve a two-point parish in the Allegheny Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA), but unfortunately had to resign after serving only two years due to poor health. She lived in California and Rittman until moving to Smithville Western Care Center in the past year for health care.
 She was an active member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wooster. She served on Church Council, the evangelism team and established and oversaw the congregational library. Susie was always ready to reach out and offer a helping hand to others.
 Susie is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lynn Cavendish and grandchildren Jared, McKenna and Madison Cavendish, of Winter Haven, FL, 4 nieces and 1 nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and son John.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. memorial service on Monday, July 2, 2018 at   the Salem Lutheran Church, 4783 Cleveland Rd., Wooster.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
