WOOSTER – Richard B. (Dick) Gwin age 84, of Wooster, Ohio passed away Saturday, January 6th, 2018.
Richard was born on August 22, 1933 in Wooster, Ohio to Wade and Evelyn (Soliday) Gwin.  He graduated from Wooster High School in 1951 where he played football and was a standout swimmer, and served in the U.S. Army ™s 1st Cavalry Division during the Korean conflict. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Welding Engineering. He developed one of the first automatic pipeline welding machines, and traveled the world building oil and gas pipelines.
He is preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Irene Soliday, father Wade H. Gwin, brother John P. (Jack) Gwin, sister-in-law Fran Gwin, and nephew Sean Gwin.
Surviving Richard is his wife of 42 years, M. Charlene Gwin, his sons Mitchell (Beth) of Columbus, A.J. (Elaine) of St. Louis, Kurt (Jan) of Canton; stepsons, Chad Totman of Columbus and Bill (Claudia) Totman of Boca Raton; 12 Grandchildren; and nephews Mark Gwin (St.Paul), Kevin Gwin (Cincinnati), and niece Jackie Gwin Adams (Lake Tahoe) and various cousins.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 14th from 2-4:00 p.m. at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home in Wooster, OH.
