WOOSTER “ Robert D. Johnson, 88, of Wooster passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at his home.
Bob was born May 6, 1929 in Wooster, the son of C. Dwight and Fern Camilla Bower Johnson. He graduated from Smithville High School.   On April 17, 1949 he married Mary Jane Peterman.
Bob was a farmer for 10 years before going into business as Johnson Insurance Agency.   For over 50 years he provided Northwestern Mutual insurance and financial services to his clients.   He was a member of Wayne Presbyterian Church, Wooster Rotary Club and Masonic Lodge.   He was also Chapter and Disaster Chairman of the American Red Cross in Wayne County for 6 years.   He enjoyed many years at the family ™s cabin on Lake Buckhorn, traveling the country in his RV, and working in the woods at the family home.
In addition to his wife of 68 years, Bob is survived by his children, Barb Nolletti of Rittman, Bev Johnson (Doug Anderson) of Sinking Spring, PA, Judy Jelus (John) of Fairlawn and Jan Johnson Bilek (Greg) of Doylestown; grandchildren, Lisa Shearer, Drew and Layne Johnson Bilek; great-grandchildren, Brynn, Brock and Bronson Shearer; and a sister, Mary Jane Hahn of Wooster.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roger Johnson, and a sister, Marjorie Croft.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham and Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill Street, Wooster on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne Presbyterian Church, 7152 Burbank Road, Wooster with the Rev. Robert Meyer officiating.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
