LONGBOAT KEY, FLORIDA – Sally Shapiro of Longboat Key, Florida, formerly of Wooster, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home September 2, 2014.  Sally (Friedman) Shapiro was born March 16, 1930.
Sally was the beloved wife of 30 years to Samuel Shapiro, sister to Esther œSissie  (Friedman) Weisberg, mother to blended family that œstarted off as four and two, but became six : Marc Gardner, Pam (Gardner) Wolf, Jill (Gardner) Joseph, Judd Gardner, Stephen Shapiro (Cheryl), Thomas Shapiro (Debbie).  Sally was surrounded by the love of her 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  
A true philanthropist, Sally had a deep love for children and was instrumental in building the Sally and Sam Shapiro Babies and Children ™s Medical Center in Sarasota, FL.
Services will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 11:00am in the Jewish section of the Wooster Cemetery.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
