Wooster “ Shirley M. Viar, 85 of Wooster went home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born August 2, 1928 in Wooster, the daughter of Harry S. and Anna Riling Butterbaugh.
She retired in 1991 from Frito Lay after 43 years of employment.   She then volunteered at Frito Lay as a tour guide and worked in the company store.
Shirley was a member of the First Church of God.   She attended Aqua Swim Class and volunteered for her Sunday School class.    Shirley enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, gardening and caring for her family.
She is survived by her children, Julie (Jeff) Snyder and Jace (Rod) Mowrer both of Wooster, her daughter-in-law, Beth Viar of Wooster; grandchildren, James (Angie) Mowrer, Ashley (Josh) Escola, Jessica (Chris) Edwards, Kellen (Stacey) Viar and Tyson Snyder; great-grandchildren, Maxton and Roslyn Escola and a special family friend, Paul Sullivan.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jon Viar in 2006 and her siblings Hazel Venturini, Harry Butterbaugh, Dr. William Butterbaugh, David Butterbaugh and Gloria Butterbaugh.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. service on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. Ken Thomas officiating.   Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
