WOOSTER “ Shirley Marie Lake, 87, of Wooster passed away at Akron City Hospital on Sunday, August 7, 2016.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 7, 1929 the daughter of Walter and Catherine Smyers Anderson.
She was a trail blazer for women as she was the first female realtor on the Westside of Cleveland.   Her real estate career spanned 46 years and she  spent many years as a partner and a business owner.   She was well respected as a business owner and an expert in her field.   Shirley was the first female to be granted a social membership to a private country club in her area.
Her clients, family and friends were her life and she will be missed by everyone who know her.   She made friends out of strangers and lived life to the fullest.
Shirley is survived by her children, Dr. Debra (John) Frame, Thomas Jr. (Barbara) Lake and Terri (John) Weiland; grandchildren, Elise Weiland, Kevin Lake and Renee Lake and her siblings, Michaleen Shannon, Michael Bafundo and Don Bafundo.
There will be no calling hours.   It was Shirley ™s wishes that a party in celebration of her life be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
