Tana Butler-Root, age 44, of Wooster died Sunday, February 15th in Los Angeles, California where she was  vacationing and participating in a 5K run for breast cancer.
Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Bartholomew officiating.   Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2-4:00 p.m.

She was born September 8th, 1970 to James W. and Sadie (Slone) Butler in Millersburg, Ohio. She married Ted Root on October 1, 1999. He survives. Also surviving is her son Broud James Butler-Root, 18, of the home…he was Tana’s pride and joy.
She worked at IAC as an accounts coordinator in Holmesville Ohio for 19 years, previous to that she was a Veterinary Assistant at New Pittsburg Vet Clinic in Wooster Ohio. After high school, she attended OSU/ATI in Wooster where she studied large animal husbandry. She enjoyed writing children’s books, traveling, gardening and riding her Harleys.
Also surviving is her sister, Pamela (Daniel) Fejedelem of Ravenna, OH; brother, Pastor James (Piper) Butler of Millersburg, Ohio; nephews Michael Fejedelem of Stow, Ohio, Stephen Fejedelem of Amherst, Ohio, Corban (Hannah) Butler of Massillon, Ohio; niece Cora Jo (Caleb) Foster of Ludlow Falls, Ohio and her mother-in-law Bernice Root of Wooster, Ohio.
Preceded her in death were her parents and father-in-law, Henry R. Root.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
