WOOSTER- Thelma Anith Rinfret, 105, of Wooster entered into rest on Wednesday, May 04, 2016.   Thelma was born October 25, 1910 in Montreal, Canada to Theodore and Florence (McIntosh) Charbonneau.   She was a graduate of St. Luke Academy, Montreal Proper and after graduation, worked for the Canadian National Steamship Company.
She was the wife of Alfred William (Bill) Rinfret.   Bill and Thelma met at a public skating rink in Outremont, Canada.   When Bill moved to NYC, the continued to keep in touch through correspondence.   Bill won a pool in a baseball game (Dodgers) and used his winnings to buy a train ticket to see Thelma.   Within a couple of months they were engaged.   They married September 27, 1937 in a Presbyterian Church in Outremont, Canada.   Bill passed away on October 25, 1985.
In her younger years, Thelma loved to dance.   The Foxtrot was her favorite dance.   She enjoyed traveling with her husband.   They had made seven trips to Europe and visited eleven countries.   England and Italy were her favorites.   She enjoyed the game of bridge and played with several groups over the years.
Thelma was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Wooster.   The family would like to thank The Rev. Evelyn N. Manzella, Rector and members of the St. James Episcopal Church for their many cards, flowers, and visits during Thelma ™s time in the nursing home.
She is survived by her sons, William Alan Rinfret of Wooster, Robert (Rosanne) Rinfret of Millersburg, three grandchildren, Sara (Robert) Rinfret of Missoula, Montana, Leah Rinfret of Portland, Oregon, Alexis (Joshua) McCoy of Washington, D.C. and great-grandson McCoy due to arrive this month.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22 at St. James Episcopal Church, Wooster with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg.   McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St. Wooster is handling funeral arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred William (Bill) Rinfret, an infant son, sisters Esther Farnham, formerly of NYC, Claire Tank formerly of El Monte, California, and brother Ray Charbonneau formerly of North Miami Beach, Florida.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, 201 N. Market Street, Wooster or to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, 44691.
