WOOSTER – Vera T. Rathbone, 73, of Wooster, died the morning of March the 31st 2016 after a prolonged illness.
She was born November 22, 1942 in Dille, WV to Dewey and Fannie Adkins Triplett.  
Vera was married to J. David Rathbone for thirty-five years and they had five children: John and Heather Rathbone of Port St. Lucie. FL, Lynn Holland of Columbus, OH, Robert and Sarah Rathbone of San Antonio, TX, Tomma and Art Bishop of Wellington, OH, and Todd and Tammy Johnson of Sterling, OH.   She is also survived by her ten grandchildren: Keith, Andrew, Ben, Chris, Ashley, Brittany, Katie, Terra, Shiloh and Trenton; brother Jack Triplett and his wife Carlene of Adairsville, GA and sister-in-law Mary Alda Triplett of Summersville, WV.
Vera was a graduate of Lodi High School and The Wooster Business College, and attended the Chicago Art Institute, specializing in portraiture. She was initially employed by the Critchfield, Critchfield & Johnston Law firm. Over the next twenty years she would work for; Faultless Rubber Corporation, the Leedy Law firm, the Wooster City Schools, and the Krupp, Wagner. Hoenberger Law firm. During those same years, and the years that followed, she pursued her love of portrait and landscape painting, winning recognition through several awards and shows, and having much of her work displayed in homes and offices across Ohio and throughout the eastern United States.
Vera found success in so many of her undertakings, not the least of which was as a wonderful mother, wife, and faithful friend to many.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, brother ™s Gerald and James Triplett and sister ™s Readith Lewis and Charlotte Benson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Wooster United Methodist Church, 243 N. Market St., Wooster with Rev. Charles Tobias officiating.
Friends will be received Friday, April 8, 2016 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
