WOOSTER “ Wesley Jay Johnson, 60 of Wooster passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 in Bethlehem Twp. near Canton.
He was born November 18, 1956 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the son of Frank Wesley and Reba Jane Wood Johnson.   He married Diane Winters on August 15, 1975.   She survives.
He was an employee of Trans Canada (formerly Columbia Gas) for 43 years as a high pressure gas Line technician.   Wes was a member of the Church of the Cross United Methodist Church.   He enjoyed fishing, gardening and model railroading and was a dedicated family man.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Diane, are his children, Andrew Johnson of Greenville, South Carolina, Melissa Johnson of Elyria, Richard (Stephanie) Johnson of Wooster and Elizabeth Johnson of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Hayden, Taylor Grace, Bryson and Brynn; his mother-in-law, Norma Alcorn of Wooster, a sister-in-law, Carole Watson of Cincinnati, an Aunt, Beulah Mehl, niece ™s Erin and Lillian and a nephew John.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Richard Winters and a brother-in-law, Richard Winters, Jr.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday, October26, 2017 from 5-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Cross United Methodist Church, 5100 Cleveland Rd., Wooster with the Rev. Kris Patt officiating.   Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
