WOOSTER “ Wilmer Dean Chance, 74, of Wooster passed away at his home on Sunday, October 11, 2015.
He was born June 1, 1941 in Wooster, the son of Wilmer Laverle and Florence Lucille Beck Chance.
He was a graduate of Northwestern High School, a professional baseball player, President of the International Boxing Assoc., a long time carnival showman and a gentleman farmer raising Black Angus cattle.   He was a member of the Emanuel Old Stone Church.
Dean was a very strong supporter of Wayne County High School Sports and especially Northwestern High School.   He was very instrumental in the Roy Bates Foundation and never missed a Wayne County Fair.
He is survived by a son, Brett (Rhonda) Chance of Hilliard, granddaughters, Kristen and Lauren, a sister, Janet (Richard) Connelly of Wooster, a niece Christy Miller and a nephew Rick Connelly both of Wooster and his ex-wife, Judy Chance of Hilliard.
Friends will be received on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster from 5-8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Northwestern High School Gymnasium, 7473 North Elyria Rd., West Salem, Ohio with Pastor Dan Bartkowiak officiating.   A private family burial will be held.
