She was a graduate of Wooster High School.. Carol was a nurse at Apple Creek State Hospital for 27 years and later worked at Sunrise Assisted Living in Wooster
Surviving are her mother, Betty Berner and her son, Michael Bateman of Wooster; sisters, Ann (Luther) Stout of Rittman and Helen (Ted) McVa of Wadsworth; half-brother, Richard (Shari) Berner of Wooster, half sisters, Beulah (Wiley) Miller of Sterling, Theresa (Alan) Miller of Coshocton, and Carol (Danny) Dillon of Wooster; step-brother, Jim Mitchell of Houston, TX. Also a granddaughter, Emily Bateman, who was the light of her life, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tab Carter and step-mother, Irene Carter; step father, Paul Berner and a step-brother, Robert Mitchell.
