WOOSTER – David Clifford TURPIN, 67, of Wooster, died of Cancer Thursday, December 13, 2007 in Cleveland Clinic Foundation Hospital in Cleveland.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill Street, Wooster, OH, on Sunday evening from 6-9:00 P.M.
Services will be held at the Church of the Cross United Methodist Church, Monday, December 17, 2007, at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Dr. Thomas Shaw officiating.
Born March 2, 1940 in Woodsfield, OH, he was the son of Charles C. and Florence E. Bigler Turpin.

He was a Certified Public Accountant and the owner of Turpin and Assoc. Member of the Wooster United Methodist Church. Member of Ebenezer Lodge #33F & AM, Wooster Chapter #27 Royal Arch Masons, a Noble of Al Koran Shrine, Broadview Heights where he served as ambassador in addition to 4 terms as President of Wooster Shrine Club. He enjoyed Wood Carving and Reading.
Dave began his leadership roles on the Committee of Shreve Pack 71, Committee Chairman of Troop 74 and then taking over as Scoutmaster of Troop 74 as his boys moved up in Scouting, currently he serves as Treasurer for Troop 68. On the District level he has held many leadership positions: District Cub Chairman, Chairman of Scout-o-Rama for two years, Chairman of Pow-wow, District Scout Chairman, Director of 1990 Day Camp, 2005, 2006 and 2007 Day Camp administrator, District Advancement chairman for 6 years, District Commissioner, instructor for Scoutmaster training and worked on Klondyke Derbies. At Council he has served as Council Director of all Cub Day Camp, Pow-wow, Baden-Powell instructor for two years and he has served on two Wood Badge Courses as a patrol counselor.
He is a fifth year Pipestone, Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow and has received the District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver and Wood Badge. Member of Buckeye Council of Boy Scouts of America.
He was past president of Wooster United Way, member of the Ohio Society of CPA’s.
Surviving are his wife, Sally J. Saunders Turpin, whom he married November 14, 1965; his father of Lisbon; sons, Timothy (Tammy) Turpin of Volo, Il, Thomas (Tonya) Turpin of Lodi and Terrance (Jean) Turpin of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren Samantha, Amanda, Lindsay, Timothy, Jr., Tanner, Tristan, Peyton, Xzavius and Isaac; great-grandson Kurt.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence E. Holliday.
