WOOSTER – James R. VITARO, 83, of Wooster, died Saturday, December 15, 2007 in Wooster Community Hospital.
There were no calling hours or services. Burial was held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, OH assisted the family with arrangements.
Born December 17, 1923 in Wooster, OH, he was the son of Lorenzo and Mary Louise DePasqua Vitaro.
He served his country with the United States Army during the WWII era.
He was employed by North End Garage for many years and then worked for Honaker Marine and was then a custodian for Wooster City Schools until his retirement. Before and after his retirement Jim drove truck and ran errands for various area businesses and friends.
He was a member of Wayne Presbyterian Church, The Wooster/Madisonburg evening Lions Club, American Legion Post 68 of Wooster, The State Highway Patrol Auxiliary, the Horseman’s Assoc., and various other clubs throughout the years.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Winkler Vitaro, whom he married may 10, 1953 and his sons, Dennis and Randall Vitaro both of Wooster.
He was preceded in death by 6 siblings and a stillborn daughter Debra.
