WOOSTER – John P. MURPHY, SR, 85, of Wooster, died Saturday, February 23, 2008 in Wooster Community Hospital.
Born April 27, 1922 in Frackville, PA, he was the son of John Joseph and Priscilla Swartz Murphy.
He attended St. Mary Catholic Church. He served his country with the United States Navy.
Surviving are his children John P. Jr. (Jane) Murphy of Wooster, Terry Murphy of Pleasanton, CA, and Kathleen A. Murphy of Albuquerque, NM, grandchildren John P. Murphy, III of Wooster, Katie (Josh) Frichtl of Wooster, Kyle Murphy of San Francisco, CA and Lindsay Murphy of LasVegas, NV., great grandchildren Chloe Frichtl and Jackson Frichtl of Wooster; brother, Patrick Murphy of Shamokin, PA, and a sister, Mary Lou Eiche of Frackville, PA.
He was preceded by his wife Joyce M. Hendrick Murphy, in 1997 whom he married September 5, 1981, brothers Frederick, William, Robert and Eugene and sisters Delores and Hellen.
