WOOSTER – On a beautiful Monday morning on August 4th. 2008, Joseph Anthony DiScipio (PaPa Joe) was called home to meet his lord, with his family at his side. He passed away at his home, after a galliant battle with cancer. His love and generosity was transcentant on those he shared his life with.
He spent his years with the love & support of his family and many friends, He married the love of his life Rosalynd Yacapraro Sept. 14, 1963 and together they raised 5 children : Denise A. DiScipio, Vincent T. & Barbara A. DiScipio, Katherine M. DiScipio, Theresa A. DiScipio and Maryrose A. and Christopher Tompkins; his grandchildren William, Lindsey, Regina, Angela, Dominic and Rebecca.
He freely shared his knowledge and experiences in life and was known to tell a great story. Joe enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, riding motorcycles, wine and beer making and cooking.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, The Lamplighters Club and served his country with the U. S. Navy. He had worked in the Maintenance Dept. at Rubbermaid for many years.
Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-9:00 P.M. at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Daniel Reed officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lamplighters Scholarship Fund, 1007 Rebecca St., Wooster, OH 44691.
