APPLE CREEK – Ann M. Fisher, 80, of Apple Creek died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at her home.
Friends may call at the Apple Creek United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
Funeral Services will be held at the Church at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Jim Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Apple Creek Cemetery.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family with arrangements.

Anna Mae Hahn was the fourth child born to Clayton and Sylvia Hahn near Orrville on the Back Massillon Road on June 16, 1928 in Wayne Co. The Church where she was confirmed was the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Orrville. The Church is the same but is now the Christ United Church of Christ. She went the first four grades to the one room school known as Fountain Hill #3 which is the same school her mother went to. It is on the corner of Back Massillon Road and Coal Bank Road. The schools consolidated and she was sent to Orrville in 1937. The 5th and 6th grades were spent at Maple Street and then junior high and high school were in the school on the corner of Maple and Church Streets. Ann graduated from High School in 1946.
She was a 10 year member of the Baughman 4-H club winning several honors with sewing and went to the State Fair. She received a trip to 4-H Club Congress in 1947 held in Chicago. As an adult, she was a 4-H advisor for 10 years for the Apple Creek True Blue 4-H Club.
Her first job was in the office of Hagans in Orrville. She met her husband Virgil, when he was home on furlough in 1944. They were married September 14, 1947. She worked at Freedlanders in Wooster until their first child was born. Sandra Ann was born on June 29, 1951, another daughter, Virginia Lynn was born on March 10, 1953. Third daughter Wanda Kay was born on May 4, 1961.
She entered the work force again in 1974 as a flexible clerk at the Apple Creek Post Office. She was moved to Massillon Post Office for 9 months and then hired at the Orrville Post Office where she retired in December of 1992.
She put together two family booklets. One in 1976 of the decendants of Charles Daniel and Margaret (Saurer) Nussbaum which were her great grandparents on my mother’s side. Another booklet in 2000 of her grandparents on her mother’s side of Daniel and Anna (Nussbaum) Rehm.
She was a communion stewart and Sunday School Literary at the Apple Creek United Methodist Church. She was a 4-H member and advisor, member of the East Union Grange for over 50 years. In 1958 Ann and Virg were the Grange Couple of the Year, A member of the Waynedale High School PTA and PTO serving as president in 1968 and 1969, member of the Farm Bureau, the Apple Creek Bell Choir and Garden club.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, feeding the family, flower gardening, was an avid card player, enjoyed toll painting, photography and travel.
She is survived by daughters, Sandra Ann (Robert) Doehler of Steep Falls, ME, Virginia Lynn (Jerry) Allen of Apple Creek and Wanda Kay (Joseph) Lang of West Salem, OH; 12 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild and 7 great-grandchildren; a brother Richard Hahn of Orrville and sisters Luella Arnold of Orrville and Ruth Orr of Apple Creek.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil L. Fisher, on January 10, 2008, an infant brother and her parents.
Cherished memories of Mom – a humble and gentle woman will remain with those whose lives she touched. She installed in us the values of a loving family. She took great pride in her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all that knew her.
