WOOSTER – Richard C. SYKES, 78 of Wooster, died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at his home in Wooster.
Friends will be received at the First Baptist Church, in Orrville OH, 1 hour prior to the 11:00A.M. Service on Wednesday. Interment will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster is helping the family with arrangments.
Born March 1, 1930 in Grenada, Miss., he was the son of Cole Sykes He worked as a Laborer for Koppers Orrville, Nichols Discount Store and Korda Manufacturing Co. He was a Member of 1st. Baptist Church inOrrville, loved Dogs and working on cars and had been a member of the NAACP and sang in the Mens Choir.
Surviving are: daughters Adelia & Jim Thompson , April Wackerly and Crystal Shank all of Wooster, Mariam Ashford & Family of Cleveland, The Jefferson Family of Wooster, The Robinson Family of Wooster, and Doris & Family of Mississippi extended family, and many grandchildren and friends.
