WOOSTER – Gary Michael Mike PIERCE, 65, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord after a long periord under Hospice care Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. at the New Hope Community Church on Blachleyville Road with the Rev Jeff Cooper and Mr. Josiah Martin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family with arrangements.
Those who wish may make contributions to the funeral home to help with expenses.
Born May 6, 1943 in Hampton, TN, he was the son of Elbert C. and M. Gladys Meade Pierce.
He took a medical leave from Orrrville Products Co. where he was a lead man. He had formerly worked Diebold. Gary enjoyed fishing, telling jokes, communicating with friends on the computer, being with family and friends and helping others. He served his country with the U. S. Army in France.
Surviving are his wife, Melissa J. Russ Pierce, whom he married May 27, 1968; daughters, Michelle R. Pierce and Gayle (Shawn) Hansen both of Wooster; sisters, Mary Gynell Martin of Shreve, Jolene Faye Rehm of Orrville and a brother Elbert Tyler Pierce of Big Prairie
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Robert Lee and a sister Linda Gaye.
The family wishes to thank Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne Co. for their excellent care during his illness.
