George J. GROSSENBACHER, 83, of Wooster, OH 44691, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in West View Manor Nursing Home in Wooster..
He was born October 30, 1924 the son of George and Lena Haldiman Grossenbacher. He married Ruth Carpenter Grossenbacher on February 21, 1948. She survives.
George was a truck driver for Wilson Freight for 30 years. He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Wooster. George served his country with the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the VFW and the DAV. He enjoyed the outdoors, family and friends.
Surviving min addition to his wife are his children Susan K Grossenbacher and Jane A (Corwin) Croskey both of Wooster. step-grandchildren Carrie Croskey of Wadsworth and Christine (George) Roletter of New Port Coast, CA, step-great-grandchildren Dillon Croskey, Tanner Roletter and Hayden Roletter; sisters, Virginia Sampson of Fostoria, OH and Martha Brenneman of Bellfountaine.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Salem Lutheran Church, 4873 Cleveland Rd., Wooster with the Rev. Marianne Powrie officiating. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends following the service.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family with arrangements..
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Salem Lutheran Church.
George was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Woodrow, Russell, Glenn Grossenbacher .
