WOOSTER – Elsie Virginia SMITH, 85, of Wooster died Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born October 27, 1923 in Craigsville, WV, daughter of Charlie and Veva Moore Watts.
She was a homemaker and had gathered eggs in Lattasburg. Elsie was a member of West Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Gary Michael (Becky) Smith of Dover, Shirley Ann (Tom) Kramer of Norton, Kevin James (Linda) Smith of Wooster, Roy Gene (Lynn) Smith of West Salem and Jeff (Karen)Smith of Akron; grandchildren Lisa, Cary, Joey, Jennifer, Shannon, Melissa, Rachel, Lori, Sarah, Stephanie, Stacey, Greg, Michael and Rachel and 19 great-grandchildren; brothers Lawrence Watts of North Carolina, Charlie Theodore Watts of Canton, Zeno Wilson Watts of Rittman and John Watts of West Virginia.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William J. Smith, in 1977, whom she married July 1, 1950 in Hartford CT., brothers Walter, Noland Richard, Franklin and Fred Watts and sisters Mary Watts, Goldie Watts, Pauline Spencer and Cindy English and Kathy Watts.
Friends may call one hour prior to the 3:00 p.m. service on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 in the Chapel at Sherwood Memorial Gardens with Pastor Dan Wingate officiating.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family with arrangements.
