Phyllis O’Dell STONE, 78, of Wooster, loving and devoted mother, passed away Sunday, January 25 at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Hospital in Cleveland..
She was born November 25, 1930 in South Bend, PA, daughter of Wendell J and Twila M Uplinger Devers.
She was a homemaker and retired from Hawkins Cafeteria in 1997. She was a member of the Wooster Church of the Nazarene and had belonged to T.O.P.S. Phyllis loved to cook and take care of her family..
Surviving are her children G. Kay Bascom of Wooster, Barb (Dick) James of Wooster, Doris M. (Brian) Johnson of Shreve, Sandra A. Fath of Wooster, John V Stone of Shreve, Ronald W. (Melisa) Stone of Wooster, OH, Donald W (Teresa) Stone of Wooster, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John W Stone, in 1998 whom she married March 7, 1958; a son Richard L. Jenkins, sisters, Garnett Spence, Nancy Shankle a brother, Hobart Devers.
Services will be held at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, January 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Nathan Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, Thursday evening from 6-8:00 P.M.
