WOOSTER – Lester L. MYERS, 90, of Wooster passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009 in West View Manor Nursing Home.
He was born March 13, 1918 in Plain Township, son of James and Isa Kirkendal Myers.
He had been a farmer for 28 years and then the plant manager at Jones Construction for 16 years. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ. Lester was a past president of the 20-30 club, a 36 year member of the Elks, was a member of the Valley College Grange, Pomona Grange, State Grange and the National Grange. He was a graduate of Wooster High School.
Surviving are sons, Gene Myers of Lakeville and David (Carolyn) Myers of Newark; 2 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ella Louise Ebright Myers, on September 29, 2008 whom he married August 3, 1940 and a sister, Helen Myers.
A Memorial Services will be held at the Trinity United Church of Christ on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kevan Franklin officiating. Burial of ashes will be held at the convenience of the family in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ, 150 E. North St., Wooster, OH. 44691.
