APPLE CREEK – After a long, courageous fight with Parkinson’s Disease, Betty Ruth Moore, 78, of Apple Creek went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
She was born August 8, 1930 in Sevierville, TN, daughter of Dewey and Nola Mae Loveday Bohanan. She married Clarence Moore in 1977. Betty was a wife of nearly 33 years. During their time together, they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe, camping, bird watching and dining out.
Betty attended business school as a young adult while working at Avon, and this was followed by a move to Ohio. She had been the Commissary Manager at the Apple Creek Developmental Center retiring in 1996 after 27 years. With a strong Christian faith, Betty was a member of the Apple Creek United Methodist Church, was a member of PERI, the Rebekah Lodge, the Sewing Club, the Parkinson’s Support Group and volunteered at ACDC.
Betty enjoyed spending numerous hours with her family and friends and was an inspiration to many. Betty will be greatly missed and she will be forever remembered.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children Darlene (Glenn) Ray and her husband Charlie of Apple Creek, Diane (Glenn) Shafer and husband Rick of Loudonville, Danny Glenn and wife Mary (Besancon) of Dalton and Donnie Glenn and wife Sandy of Apple Creek; her step-son Mike Moore and wife Linda of Barberton; her grandchildren Cassandra Ray, Ashley (Jimmy) Zimmerman, Hedi (Lee) Hower, Nichole Malcuit, Joey Malcuit, Dusty Malcuit, Jennifer Glenn, Kimberly Glenn, Kris (Barret) Robinson, Jon Maquire, Keri Moore, Dustin Jacobs, Garret Jacobs; foster grandchildren Leah Gupton, Amber McClain, Armisha Stephens, Tiffany Piper and Caitlyn Anspach; 11 great-grandchildren and siblings Dorothy McNew, Francis Hale and J. C. Bohanan all of Tennessee; a half-brother Hoyle Bohanan of Tennessee.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Donna Glenn Wilson, a granddaughter Emily Glenn and siblings Paul Bohanan, Juanita Bohanan and Francis.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 P.M.
Services will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Apple Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Wooster Cemetery.
