WOOSTER – Rita Mary FELTON, 86, of Wooster passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in Wooster Community Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born September 3, 1922 in Glenmont the daughter of Frank C. and Julia A. Guenther Butts.
She had been employed at Regal Ware for 21 years and at the Flxible Co. in Loudonville for 3 years. Rita attended the Paradise Church of the Brethren and had been a volunteer with the Salvation Army.
Surviving are her children, John (Doris) Felton of Alabama, Jim (Stella) Felton of Coshocton, Richard (Barbara) Felton of Wooster, Pat (Jim) Merckle of Wooster, and Judy Steiner of Shreve; 6 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold J. Felton, on July 14, 1995; a daughter Carol. a daughter-in-law Ruth Felton, a granddaughter Laura Felton and a great-granddaughter Nicole Border, brothers, Henry & Albert Butts, sisters, Loretta Stanton, Zelma Purdy and Sally Kaylor.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday evening from 7-9:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held at Funeral Home, Friday, April 17, 2009 at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Tom Michaels officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie Township Cemetery, Holmesville.
Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Wooster Corps., 437 S. Market St., Wooster, OH 44691.
