WOOSTER – Charles Chuck George EMERSON, 76, of Wooster passed away Friday, April 24, 2009 at his home.
He was born October 7, 1932 in Wooster the son of George Orlo and Ruby Kinney Emerson.
He retired as a machinist after 42 years at the International Paper Co. He was a member of the Lakefork United Methodist Church. Chuck was a member of the Westwood Ruritan’s, and had been a Triway Little League Coach. He served his country with the U.S. Army with the 19th Infantry during the Korean War earning a bronze service star..
Surviving are wife, Nancy Holderbaum Emerson, whom he married on November 27, 1954; a daughter, Catherine (Jim) Harper of Apache Junction, AZ and a son, Daniel Emerson of Wooster, grandchildren Wesley Harper, Desiree Vega, Crystal Middleton and Danielle Pennington; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Mae Peck of Tularosa, NM and a brother, Donald (Judy) Emerson of Rittman.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Isaac.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Tuesday evening, April 28, 2009 from 7-9:00 P.M.
Services will be held at Funeral Home, Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Layton Broome officiating. Interment will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
